Tinubu extends free ride on Abuja Metro by six months

The President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, announced that train rides will be free on the Abuja Rail Mass Transit (also called Metro Rail) until the end of the year. This is an extension of the free train rides that were announced earlier for two months.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had said that train rides would be free for two months to make it easier for people who live in Abuja to get around.
But President Tinubu said, "I heard you saying you would give people two months of free rides. I ask you to make it until the end of the year. This will give people hope and something to be happy about."
This means that people who use the train in Abuja will not have to pay for their tickets until December 31st.
