Army Dismissed Female Soldier Who Stole Boss' Jewelries Worth 35Millon

 

A Nigerian female soldier has been discharged after admitting to pilfering gold jewellery valued at N35 million from the wife of an army general she was assigned to in Kaduna. Sources within the army disclosed that the female soldier was Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort, bearing service number 15NA/74/4422F.

Comfort purportedly committed the theft in May, sneaking into the room of the senior officer and absconding with the jewellery. She then purportedly sold the stolen items to a jeweller in Kaduna for N5 million.

The army authorities purportedly kept the incident under wraps, fearing public scrutiny over how the senior officer's wife acquired such expensive jewellery while being a homemaker. The said jeweller was also reportedly apprehended by the military police.

"The army authorities have treaded cautiously due to the status of the general's wife as a homemaker; questions would arise as to how she amassed jewellery worth millions of Naira. The stolen jewellery, valued at N35 million, was only a fraction of her collection," one source revealed.

The female soldier had allegedly been monitoring the woman for some time before executing the theft, netting N5 million from the illicit transaction. Regrettably, she was caught in the act and subsequently dismissed from service.

This incident follows the recent dismissal of three soldiers apprehended by the police for involvement in armed robbery and kidnapping. The suspects, identified as LCPL Abdul Musa, CPL Innocent Okwoli, and CPL West Isaac, were reportedly arrested during a police operation in April and handed over to the army for investigation.

Following due process, the soldiers were charged, tried, and found guilty, leading to their dismissal from service as per the provisions of the Armed Forces Act. They were subsequently remanded to the police for prosecution.
